The YYGS-Beijing staff reviews all applications holistically. Our staff understands that students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and with different educational and extracurricular opportunities. As a result, the written essays are the most important part of the application and there are no minimum grade or standardized exam score requirements for YYGS-Beijing. However, a high level of English-language proficiency is expected.
Resume/CV or Activities List
Official School Transcript - The transcript or school report should list all grades for courses taken at the school you currently attend.
One 500-word personal essay, two 300-word responses
Letter of Recommendation - The letter of recommendation letter must be written and submitted by a teacher through a link that will be provided via email. Applicants should ask a teacher at their school who knows them well and has taught them in an academic subject to write the recommendation letter.
Unofficial standardized test scores, if available (not required)
For International students attending school OUTSIDE the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, or Singapore, we strongly recommend submitting at least one English proficiency test score such as the TOEFL, PTE, or IELTS.
Applicants will be notified electronically of admissions decisions in late November. For students requiring a visa to travel to Beijing, the YYGS-Beijing Program will provide an invitation letter. It is the responsibility of admitted students to obtain the appropriate visa to travel to Beijing.
