Josh Chin, Career Panelist
Josh Chin is a reporter covering Chinese politics and society for The Wall Street Journal. He has been in his current role since 2014. Before that, he worked as a video journalist for the newspaper and then editor of its China Real Time blog. He was nominated for an Emmy in 2009 and also been recognized for his work by the Society of Professional Journalists and others.
Josh has worked and studied on and off in China since 1998. He earned a master’s in journalism at U.C. Berkeley in 2007. The next year, he served as a research fellow at the the Asia Society’s Center on U.S.-China Relations, where he helped produce an oral history of China’s early 2000s economic boom. At one point, he worked as a sous chef on a floating French restaurant in San Francisco.
